Who is Ollipops?
Ollipops is a Partnership wholly owned by Caroline and Ken Gowans and located in Hampshire, England. We do not operate a high street shop or offer collection facilities, however, although our website is our catalogue and shop, we recognise that many people do not feel comfortable entering their credit card details online. We are therefore happy to accept orders by post in addition to our secure online facilities - more details below.
Making a Purchase
Simply browse through the shop, select any items you wish to order, and proceed to the checkout. You may pay by credit card via the secure server at Protx, who operate a "real-time" system - i.e. they will make security checks on your card, obtain payment authorisation, and debit your account immediately. The item will appear on your statement under the merchant name "Ollipops.com". In the case of non-UK orders, your credit card company will convert the sterling amount into your own currency at the rate prevailing under their own terms and conditions. When viewing the contents of your shopping cart, you will see a mini cart summary at the foot of the page, together with a link which will enable you to get an instant price conversion into your own currency. Please note that this should be used as a guide only - what you will actually pay depends on the exchange rate applied by your own card company. Important: although Protx obtain bank authorisation while you wait, we do not send transactions for settlement until the day your order is despatched - i.e. you will never actually pay for your order in advance of the despatch date. This is particularly important if your order is for Starchild shoes, which are handmade to order and take 2-3 weeks.
Payment Options
You may also pay by sterling cheque drawn on a UK high street bank. Cheques should be made payable to "Ollipops". Orders paid for by personal cheque will be despatched once the cheque has cleared (usually 4-5 working days). If you would prefer to speak to a real person, you are welcome to make payment by telephone (we accept Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, American Express and any debit card displaying the Visa or Mastercard logos. We cannot accept non-UK Maestro cards or Visa Electron cards). If you have a Paypal account and would prefer to pay via Paypal, you will see this as an option once you reach the secure payment server at Protx.
Shipping & Handling
Shipping is charged on some items as set out in the table below. The following items have no shipping charges: Bobux Original baby shoes, Starchild leather baby and toddler shoes, Sole Mania slippers, Sposh Ozone, Baby Banz, and Beauty & The Bib baby bibs. For these items, shipping is FREE to any destination.

The only products on which we have to charge for shipping are Bobux i-Walk and i-Walk Junior (the soft-soled Bobux Originals do not have shipping charges), our range of wooden toys, Aquashoes, Wellies, Zoobie Pets, dressing-up costumes and puppets. For these items, shipping is charged according to weight, as detailed below, and is calculated automatically as you add items to your shopping cart. Orders with a value of over £150.00 are shipped for FREE in the UK in any case. Our policy is to avoid overcharging customers for shipping, and so where an order with a value of £150.00 or more has been placed for delivery outside the UK, we will contact you by email with the exact shipping cost for your order. Shipping charges must be paid prior to despatch. Where an order includes a mix of products, only some of which attract shipping charges, we will calculate and charge shipping based on those items only and will continue to pay the shipping charges for any products which would have been shipped for free.

Sometimes shipping charged on the order can be more than the eventual real cost. We check every order individually and will always refund the difference back on to the customer's card if they have paid more than the actual cost of shipping their order. Unfortunately, overseas shipping in particular is expensive, and there are no cheap options, and in order to keep our products competitively priced, we are not able to subsidise shipping on the heavier items.

Ollipops does not levy a handling or administration charge.
Import Duties
Overseas deliveries only: import duties vary worldwide depending on each country's importation legislation. It is the customer's responsibility to discover what, if any, import duties their order may be subject to, and the liability for import duties resides solely with the customer. Within the European Community Free Trade Zone there are no import duties payable.
Guarantee
We guarantee to refund or replace faulty items, and we will refund any shipping charges incurred in returning any faulty merchandise, on condition that you have contacted us prior to returning the faulty item to obtain shipping instructions. If you are simply not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we will issue a refund or an exchange if the item is returned in new, unworn and resaleable condition within 30 days of receipt. We will not pay for return shipping unless the item is faulty. Items returned for any other reason other than faulty merchandise must be returned with all original packaging and labels intact. Please take care when trying on any shoes or clothing, so as to preserve the original packaging. This is in addition to your statutory rights.
Back Orders
Most orders are shipped within 3 working days. Some items may take longer than this, and these are clearly marked in the full product description. For example, Starchild baby shoes are handmade to order and therefore take 2 to 3 weeks to despatch. We do carry stock of a few Starchild designs, and these are clearly listed in 'ex-stock' categories. It is important to note that although your transaction will be authorised by your bank at the time of order (for online payments), no money will actually be debited to your account until the day of despatch of goods. Occasionally, an item (other than Starchild) may be out of stock and we may not be able to ship it within our normal timescale. If this happens, we will advise you immediately and back-order the items for you. You have the right to cancel an order for any items which, in your view, are on an unacceptably long lead time. This is in addition to your statutory rights.
Refund & Returns Policy (see also Guarantee above)
If for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase, we will refund the purchase price in full, provided that (a) the item(s) are returned within 30 days of receipt, and (b) the item(s) are returned in new, unworn, unused and resaleable condition and with all original packaging and labelling intact. The price refunded will reflect any adjustment to discounts available originally, but no longer available due to one or more items being returned - for example, if you originally ordered 2 pairs of Bobux, each pair would have been discounted by £1 for the sole reason that we offer a discount based on quantity. If you subsequently were to return one of the pairs, this would reduce the basic order to 1 pair, which would not entitle you to a quantity discount. The refund for the returned pair would reflect this. Please note that items are returned at the sender's cost and risk and we advise you to return the items via a traceable service. Under current EU regulations, you have the right to cancel your order in any case within seven days of creating the contract with Ollipops, or seven days of receipt of the goods (whichever is the longer). If you cancel your order before the goods are despatched, your money will be refunded immediately. If you cancel your order after despatch of goods, your money will be refunded after you have returned the goods in new, unused and resaleable condition to Ollipops. This will normally happen within 1 day of receipt, but in any case will take place within the 30 days permitted by law.
Complaints Procedure
Should you have any concerns or complaints, please address them in the first instance to Caroline Gowans, at any of the contact details below. You will receive an immediate acknowledgement of receipt, and at least a preliminary response within 2 working days. Our preliminary response will, at the very least, provide a detailed plan and timescale for dealing with the matter you have raised. In most cases, we anticipate resolving any issue within 2 days of receipt of your communication. All concerns and complaints will be treated personally, confidentially and seriously. Your satisfaction with the service you have received from Ollipops is of paramount importance to us, and we welcome your comments.
